Flying a Talos T60X and DJI Agras T50/T40 Together
Share
At Drone Spray Pro, one of the biggest questions we get is:
👉 “Can I run my Talos T60X at the same time as a DJI Agras T50 or T40?”
The answer is yes — and it’s a game-changer.
Why Combine/Swarm Talos T60x and DJI Agras?
Running both drones together means you don’t have to choose between brands — you can harness the best of both worlds.
-
Faster Coverage → Double your acres per hour by putting two drones in the air at once.
-
Mix & Match Equipment → Already own a DJI Agras? No problem. Add a Talos to your fleet and they can still work side by side.
-
Maximize Crew Efficiency → Your ground crew is already mixing, fueling, and charging. Running two drones makes better use of that time.
-
Scalable Operations → Whether you’re a farmer, co-op, or custom applicator, mixing fleets helps you scale without being locked into a single ecosystem.
At Drone Spray Pro, we’ve seen this setup dramatically boost productivity while keeping operations flexible.
How It Works
The trick is third-party mission planning software that supports importing and dividing field boundaries. Here’s a simplified workflow:
Step 1: Map the Field
-
Use mapping tools such as QGIS (shown in our video above), DroneDeploy, Pix4Dfields, or DJI Terra to map the field.
-
Export the boundary in KML/KMZ or shapefile format.
Step 2: Divide the Field
-
Split the field into two zones:
-
Larger blocks → Talos T60X (bigger tank, faster work rate).
-
Smaller/irregular zones → DJI Agras T50/T40.
-
Step 3: Generate Missions
-
Talos T60X: Import its zone into the Talos planner.
-
DJI Agras: Import the same boundary into DJI Pilot 2, but assign it only the DJI’s zone.
-
Each drone now has its own autonomous mission with no overlap.
Step 4: Fly Together
-
Launch drones a minute apart to avoid crowding.
-
Keep visual observers on both drones (required under FAA Part 137 for multiple aircraft).
-
Sync tank swaps & charging cycles so neither drone is waiting idle.
-
This diagram shows how a field can be divided between two spray drones. The larger blue zone is assigned to the Talos T60X, which handles bigger loads with its higher capacity. The orange zone is assigned to the DJI Agras T50/T40, covering smaller or complementary sections. By splitting the field this way, both drones can work together at the same time without overlap — doubling efficiency and making the most of your ground crew
Best Practices
-
Balance Run Times → Adjust mission sizes so both drones finish at roughly the same time.
-
Match Droplet Size → Keep nozzle settings consistent across drones for uniform application.
-
Crew Communication → Use radios to coordinate landings/refills and keep the operation smooth.
The Bottom Line
With the right setup, your Talos T60X and DJI Agras T50/T40 can fly the same field at the same time.
-
No wasted time.
-
No wasted resources.
-
Just more acres covered, faster.
